As grooms receive more recognition within equestrian sport, they are increasingly asked to step into the media spotlight. Interviews, whether live or recorded, offer a valuable opportunity to talk about the work grooms do and the importance of horsemanship. With the right preparation, these moments can be positive, confident, and even enjoyable.

On Tuesday, February 3, HorseGrooms will host a MeetUp focused on Media Training for Grooms, led by experienced equestrian journalist Sarah Eakin of Paper Horse Media.
What to Expect
This MeetUp will offer practical guidance to help grooms feel more comfortable and confident when speaking to the media. Topics include:
- How to prepare for interviews and photo opportunities
- How to answer questions clearly and thoughtfully
- How to handle unexpected or challenging questions
- Different interview scenarios grooms may encounter at shows
The goal is not to script answers, but to help grooms understand how to communicate their work, their role, and their knowledge in a clear and professional way. When grooms feel at ease during interviews, the profession is better represented and the experience becomes more positive for everyone involved.
