US Equestrian has updated rule GR838, starting December 1, 2024, to deal with unethical treatment of horses – not just at competitions but anywhere. This new rule only applies in the U.S., but it’s an important step in making sure horse abusers face consequences.
Report Unethical Treatment Of A Horse
For too long, people who abuse horses haven’t been punished because of the location in which their abuse happens. But now, if you report unethical treatment of a horse, US Equestrian will investigate – even if it happens outside of a show. This is a step toward ensuring that those who engage in abusive practices are identified and stopped.
However, US Equestrian needs your help. It’s crucial that you continue to report incidents, knowing that US Equestrian is committed to investigating thoroughly, making sure it’s fair for everyone involved.
