Learn from One of the Most Experienced Grooms in Modern Show Jumping
Tuesday, March 24 | Corro Store, 11586 Pierson Rd, Wellington, FL
We are very pleased to announce that our upcoming HorseGrooms MeetUp on Tuesday, March 24 at Corro in Wellington will feature a special guest: Lee McKeever, who was recently inducted into the Show Jumping Hall of Fame as one of the few grooms or barn managers ever to receive this recognition.
For more than three decades, Lee has worked alongside six-time Olympian McLain Ward as head groom, sport horse manager, and trusted advisor. During that time, he has played a central role in preparing and managing some of the sport’s most successful horses, contributing to results at Olympic Games, World Equestrian Games, Pan American Games, World Cup Finals, and major grand prix competitions around the world.

A Career Built on Consistency and Experience
Originally from Dublin, Ireland, Lee came to the United States in 1988 to work at Castle Hill Farm. He has remained there ever since, building a career defined by long-term commitment, consistency, and deep attention to the individual horse.
Known throughout the industry for his practical knowledge and steady approach, Lee is often sought out by grooms, riders, and trainers for his insight on all aspects of horse management. His recognition includes the FEI Best Groom Award (2018), and now induction into the Show Jumping Hall of Fame in the United States.
What We Will Discuss
This MeetUp will be structured primarily around conversation and questions from the audience. The evening will begin with a few introductory questions to guide the discussion, but the largest portion of the session will be dedicated to attendee questions. Guests are encouraged to come prepared. This is a rare opportunity to learn directly from someone with decades of experience at the very top of the sport.
Topics will include:
• Managing horses at top-level competition
• Building consistent systems that support performance and welfare
• Adapting care to individual horses
• Traveling with horses and maintaining routines on the road
• Managing teams and working effectively with people
• Sustaining longevity in a demanding profession
This will be an open, practical, and informal session with space for thoughtful discussion and shared experience.
