HorseGrooms MeetUp – Grooming & Stable Management in Wellington; An End of Season Round Table

Join us on Tuesday, March 31 at Corro for the final HorseGrooms MeetUp of the 2026 Wellington season, an “end of season round table” focused on grooming and stable management during the busy Florida circuit. After a successful season of MeetUps built around learning, connection, and community, this last one offers a chance to reflect on lessons learned, discuss challenges in the barn, and share practical ideas to take forward.

As the Wellington season comes to a close, HorseGrooms invites grooms, barn managers, and equestrians to come together for an open and honest conversation about life behind the scenes during one of the busiest circuits in the world.

Constant Pressure

Wellington is known for its intensity: weeks of competition, long days, high expectations, horse care challenges, and constant pressure on both horses and people. For grooms and barn managers, it is a season that demands organization, adaptability, mental flexibility, and a deep understanding of each individual horse.

Round Table Discussion

While we have had amazing presentations and clinics over the past MeetUp season, this final HorseGrooms MeetUp of the season will take a different format.

On Tuesday, March 31 at Corro, we will host an end of season round table discussion with experienced barn manager Nanci Snyder, focused on grooming and stable management throughout the Wellington season.

There will be no formal presentation. Instead, the evening is centered around conversation, reflection, and shared experience.

Together, we will explore:

  • What worked well this season, in the barn and at the shows
  • The everyday challenges grooms and barn managers faced, from managing schedules and horse wellbeing to dealing with skin issues, travel, and pressure
  • Different approaches to organizing barns, caring for horses, and supporting teams
  • Lessons learned that can be taken forward into the next season

Challenges

While Wellington offers incredible opportunities, it also brings real challenges. Horses are asked to perform consistently over many weeks, often in heat and humidity, while grooms and managers balance demanding routines with the responsibility of keeping everything running smoothly. These are the realities that are not always visible from the outside, but they shape the welfare of the horses, grooms, and barn managers, and the success of the team.

This MeetUp creates space to talk about those realities in a constructive and respectful way.

Participants are encouraged to bring their experiences, questions, and perspectives. A little bit of venting is welcome, but the focus remains on learning, improving, and supporting each other.
