​After a season packed with fantastic HorseGrooms MeetUps in Wellington, FL, we’re gearing up for a grand finale that puts horse welfare front and center. Join us on March 25 at Wellington International for “The Art of Lunging – Calm Hunters & Equitation Horses, Sound Bodies,” where top experts will share practical tips encouraging correct lunging practices to keep our horses happy and healthy. Let’s wrap up the season on a high note, learning together for the love of our horses.​

In this HorseGrooms MeetUp about lunging, we focus on the art of lunging hunters and equitation horses, emphasizing techniques that promote safe lunging, calmness, and physical health. The session will feature celebrated professionals Jean Bonsall, Jack Towell, Louise Serio, and David Nuñez.

What to Expect?

Each expert will demonstrate their expertise through discussion or demonstration.

  • Jean Bonsall is an FEI steward who will share her observations on common lunging practices and areas for improvement.​
  • Jack Towell and Louise Serio are renowned hunter trainers who will demonstrate their lunging techniques, covering aspects like circle size, safety measures, appropriate speed, recognizing cross-cantering, and distinguishing between relaxation and fatigue.​
  • David Nuñez is Kimberly Prince‘s long-time top groom. He will share his tips and expertise with the Spanish-speaking crowd.

Details of the Lunging Event

Date: Tuesday, March 25
Time: 6:00 – 7:30 PM​
Location: Wellington International’s new lunging rings, situated in the back of the current showgrounds near the upcoming new showgrounds.​
Perks: Pizza, drinks, and a certificate of attendance for the attending grooms

Registration Required

This educational event is free and open to grooms, trainers, riders, owners, and all equestrian enthusiasts interested in refining their lunging techniques. Attending grooms will receive a certificate of attendance. Complimentary pizza and drinks will be provided. To ensure adequate catering, please RSVP here through the HorseGrooms Community or via this Google Form, which allows group sign-ups in a single submission.​
