Why Your Own Flexibility Should Be a Priority

Have you ever considered how your own physical well-being contributes to your horse’s well-being? Sarah Pyrda explains why it should be important part of our relationship with horses.

Suppleness is a common goal for equine athletes across many disciplines. Concepts like softness and self-carriage are foundational to our horses’ training programs as we prepare them physically to best perform their jobs. So much emphasis is placed on maintaining the equine athlete in top form, but often these same concepts are overlooked for the riders and support team behind their beloved animals. It shouldn’t be like that.

One of the simplest and most selfless ways we can contribute to the overall well-being of our animals and our team is to improve our own physical well-being so that we show up ready to give our best and meet our equine athlete halfway every day.

What Sarah Pyrda tackles in this HorseGrooms Insiders resource

  1. Flexibility: What it actually means
  2. Flexible v. stretchy
  3. Fascia
  4. Resistance stretching
  5. Traditional Chinese medicine
  6. Applying it for equestrians
