Choosing the right joint support for your horse can feel overwhelming.
Walk into any tack shop or browse online, and you’ll find countless products claiming to improve joint health. Powders, pellets, injections, supplements… all promising to keep horses comfortable and performing at their best. But how do you know which products are supported by science and which are simply backed by marketing?
HorseGrooms is excited that Dr. Christopher (Chris) Elliott is willing to tackle exactly that question on Tuesday, August 4 at 7:00 p.m. ET, in another educational webinar inside the HorseGrooms Community.
“The Science Behind Equine Joint Support: What Does the Evidence Say?” is designed to help grooms, horse owners, riders, trainers, and barn managers better understand the research behind today’s most common joint support products and therapies.
Why This Webinar Matters
Joint health plays an important role in every horse’s career, whether they are a young horse just starting work, an experienced competition horse, or a trusted family partner.
Many people want to do the best for their horses, but with so many products available, it can be difficult to separate evidence from advertising.
This webinar isn’t about promoting one supplement or medication over another.
“It’s important to know what you’re actually giving your horse. Everyone wants to support their horse’s joints, but not all joint support products are created equal”, said Dr. Christopher Elliott
Instead, Dr. Elliott will explain how veterinarians evaluate the available scientific evidence and why understanding that evidence helps horse owners and care professionals make better decisions together with their veterinarian.
During this webinar, you’ll learn:
- How to evaluate joint support products using scientific evidence
- The differences between oral supplements and injectable therapies
- Which ingredients and medications have the strongest research behind them
- Why inflammation is an important part of joint health
- Practical considerations, including when treatment may be appropriate and what questions to discuss with your veterinarian
Whether you care for one horse or manage an entire barn, understanding the science behind joint support can help you make more informed decisions throughout your horse’s career.
