There is a lot to say about the work we do every day. We wake up early. We feed horses. We clean stalls. We work with valuable animals, and we take pride in it, even when we are tired. But not many people talk about this work. Not the public, and not even the horse industry itself.
At Barn Maids, we see this the same way you do. There are not many resources for people who do this job. Barn workers are often the most overlooked and the most at risk. Think back to your first barn job. Not much has changed since then.
Barn Maids wants to change this. Here is how, and why it is already working.
What Is Barn Maids?
Barn Maids is a professional service that equestrian facility owners in Las Vegas contact when they need consistent, reliable help that is licensed and insured. We show what professional horse care can look like when systems are applied to everyday routines, without a lapse in service. Our team is made up of people who love horses and who have worked in barns before. They want fair pay, a steady schedule, and the ability to speak up without losing their job. Speaking up might mean asking for more hours, asking for better pay, or suggesting better ways to care for the horses.
This is possible because of good leadership, good communication, and a plan made for each client.
More Than Horses
Barn Maids also cares for other animals like goats, chickens, cows, donkeys, and mules. But we only take on new work when it is safe, when our team has the right skills, and when we can pay fairly for the extra work.
When we meet a new client, we ask many questions. We ask about their daily routine. We ask about problems they have had before. We even ask about bad experiences with workers in the past.
Most employers are never asked these questions. That is because they do not think of themselves as a client. But that is what they are. Barn workers provide a service.
I do not always know the exact legal terms for grooms. Some are employees. Some are independent contractors. But all workers have rights. And too often, those rights are not respected, but that is something we can talk about another time.
Why Barn Maids Is Different
When you work with Barn Maids, you are protected and supported. I am your advocate.
Think of it like having a friend on your side. Someone who knows your goals. Someone who knows what you are good at and where you need support. Someone who will not take advantage of your skills.
For a long time, grooms have been put in hard situations. Sometimes there is not enough trust. Sometimes there are not enough resources. Sometimes, even housing is not safe for workers who live on the property.
My goal is simple. I want to help this community learn what is possible, in a good way.
What Is Possible
With Barn Maids, you can rely on systems instead of just memory. You can have a team that supports you. You can understand your strengths and the things you want to improve. You can choose jobs that match your goals.
Some of our team members have special interests. Some love nutrition. Some love groundwork. Some love hoof care. My job is to match them with clients who respect those interests and want to help them grow.
